10 things I love about Texel

#1 It's easier to go by bike than by car - no matter where you want to go. Sometimes it's even faster.

#2 I know every place and never get lost. I even know this island better than I know my hometown.

#3 It does not matter if it's raining or if the sun is shining, I am never in a bad mood when I'm there.

#4 They have the best fries in this world.

#5 I can talk dutch to the people; at least until my father outs us as Germans and they start to talk German, no matter how hard I try.

#6 They have the best shops to buy clothes and shoes. I don't find stuff as extravagant as in those shops anywhere else.

#7 It is always calm but never boring.

#8 This place inspires me like nothing else. Whenever I lost touch with writing, it comes back as soon as I leave the ferry.

#9 I've never been there too long. That's just not possible. I never get this "it's time to go home" feeling when I'm there - because this is home.

#10 Nature and manmade world meet and fit together just beautifully. There's no shabby place on this island.
