We need a hero this time

I can't take this world seriously anymore.

No way.

I couldn't imagine the UK would be so stupid and leave the EU. But I was wrong. And just when I thought this was the most stupid and destructive action a country would perform this year, the worst nightmare of all came true. Why the hell did ANYONE in the US vote for Donald Trump? A man who said he would reintroduce waterboarding and other forms of torture. A man who clearly stated that in his eyes, women should have not such rights as men. A man who said he would build a wall at the border to Mexico. A sexist, racist person nobody can honestly take serious.

So why did you make him president of one of the most powerful countries of this world?

This whole trend - a worldwide trend - is scaring me. People stopped to work together, as a unit, even though that's the only way to achieve the goals that need to be achieved: fight global warming, end wars, spread democracy, help third world countries to develop, stop corruption and hunger. The list is much longer.

What happens right now is a step back a hundred years in the history of human rights. And it's not just the UK and the US. Homosexuals in my country still do not have the same right to marry as heterosexuals. Women worldwide do not have the same chances as men to get into higher positions at work. Refugees are threatened and attacked in most of Europe.

The United States of America just proved that they are not united and that they rather support someone who lives the "everyone for themselves" way of life in a very radical way. And the rest of the world is not much better - they just didn't have the chance to prove their own stupidity yet. What's next? France voting for Marine Le Pen? Frauke Petry as chancelor in Germany next year? The Netherlands letting Geert Wilders decide on important topics?

People like Trump are everywhere and it's up to us to fight against them, for democracy and human rights. None of the world's problem will be solved if we have leaders like this.

None of us are safe if we don't get up and raise our voice - no matter what district of the world we live in.

May the odds be ever in your favor.
